The AOA has organized a coalition of 15 pharmaceutical companies to work with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on a new guidance for developers of weight loss medicines. The AOA developed a draft of a new guidance document, which was presented to the FDA. This included two meetings with FDA officials and a meeting of the FDA Metabolic and Endocrine Advisory Committee exclusively on this issue.
